NC Virtual Public School

Davidson County students may take online courses for initial credit through the NC Virtual Public School.  NCVPS is a provider of virtual classes for middle and high school students.  Through the use of online courses, schools may be able to provide additional courses that would not otherwise be available to their student population.  Students wishing to take courses through NCVPS must recieve the approval of their principal, guidance counselor and the school's Distance Learning Advisor (DLA).  Schools will register their students for an NCVPS course during traditional registration.

Online courses are very different from a traditional classroom setting.  Students and parents of students thinking of requesting an online course should understand the time commitment and recognize the lack of a face-to-face teacher with whom they can quickly and easily ask questions or share concerns.  Being self-motivated and an excellent reader are key for success in an online course.
