Hello, I am your School Counselor
I have been the School Counselor at DCHS since 2013 and was the Graduation Coach/Career Counselor since 2010. I have a lot of experience in helping students overcome barriers that get in the way of being successful in school. My passion is inspiring positive change in youth and I do my best to do that every day at DCHS.
A question that is asked of school counselors is "How are students different because of our school counseling program?". Some of the changes I have seen in my students include better coping skills, less aggression, the increased ability to verbalize their frustrations, increased academic success, better understanding of healthy relationships, and better decision making. I love my students and do my best to help them navigate life, graduate high school, and make plans for their future.
To provide the support every student needs to graduate, attend a postsecondary institution, be globally competitive for work, and to be successful in life.
To focus on Academic, Career, and Socio-emotional development, stay student focused, advocate for all students, integrate programs throughout the school, display leadership through innovation and collaboration, and provide opportunities for all students to apply to college and be career ready.
Davidson County High School’s Counseling Department provides counseling services for your high school student in several areas including: academic performance, career readiness, and personal and social development. If there are any questions about the school counseling department and its programs, please feel free make an appointment, send an email, or call at any time.
